I am overwhelmed seeing once again the horrific images of the tragedy and act of terrorism that occurred on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. It is hard to believe 10 years have passed. It is one of those days that will forever be etched in our memories. We'll always remember where we were, the horror that struck in our hearts as we watched the second plane hit the tower and the people jumping honorably to their death, the sounds of phone calls made from the United Flight 93 and the words "Let's roll!", the roll of the dust and debris as it chased onlookers running to safety, the eerie sight of planeless skies as we drove home that day, the longing in our hearts to tell our family and friends we love them, the fear that more terror would come, and the hope instilled in us as political parties mattered not but we were at long last a country united. Our heroes are those men and women whose lives were lost that day as well as those who continue to protect us still. May we never forget the events and aftermath of 9/11. May we ever be grateful for the freedoms we experience each day and the blessing of being an American. May we pray for our leaders, and may God bless America!
